Real estate runs in Devon’s blood. His grandfather, Art Sullivan, was a prominent home builder in Calgary in the 1960s, developing much of the neighbourhood of Meadowlark Park in Calgary’s SW. Born and raised in Calgary, Devon has a special fondness and appreciation for how the city has grown and changed over the past 30+ years, especially looking back at photos from his grandfather’s building days, when homes were selling below $20,000!
A SAIT graduate, Devon honed his impeccable customer service skills through his 20+ year career in the hospitality industry. Working as a general manager for several multi-million-dollar restaurants provided Devon with a lot of experience in working hard and maintaining composure and performance under pressure – both of which are highly valuable skills to have in Calgary’s fast-paced real estate industry.
A dedicated family man, Devon and his wife have chosen Calgary to raise their two young children. With a relentless drive for excellence, a passion for customer service, and deep-rooted family values, Devon is a perfect choice for anyone looking for a high-integrity Realtor they can trust to look out for their family’s interests for many years to come.
Why did you get into real estate?
I wanted to help people by providing solid real estate advice and assisting them through one of life's most rewarding experiences. My grandfather was also a builder, and being able to carry on the torch with real estate has been a big motivator!
What did you do before becoming an agent?
Working with people has always been my passion. I worked in restaurants for 20+ years before getting into real estate, and while the end products are different, the two careers are similar in many ways. Ultimately, I consider real estate a people-first business rather than a sales-first business.
What is your focus when working with clients?
I always strive to exceed my clients' expectations while helping them maximize their investment. Navigating the buying and selling process can be complicated, and my job is to make it simple.
What do you love most about buying & selling homes?
Touring through homes with people. It's exciting to see their faces light up when they see the perfect home. I will never get tired of looking at new houses every day!
What’s it like being on the Urban Upgrade & NewInfills team?
It has been great joining such an experienced and tight-knit team. It feels more like a family than a workplace, which is what makes it special!
What’s your #1 tip for a successful sale?
Take the time to properly prepare your home to make sure it looks its absolute best! Investing time into the process before you list will end up paying for itself many times over.
What’s your #1 tip for finding the perfect home?
Look at a LOT of houses! Take some time to think about what your priorities are, and then go look at lots of different options because you never know how many possibilities there are until you start looking!
