Approximately 10 kilometres east of downtown, Applewood Park is situated on the extreme east edge of Calgary. It is bordered by 84 Street SE, 17 Avenue SE, 68 Street SE, and the CNR Railway. The East Hills Shopping Centre is technically a part of the Applewood Park community, so it's really close and convenient for accessing amenities.
Commuting downtown is simple via either 17 Ave or Memorial Drive, and Stoney Trail is directly accessible for commuting to other parts of Calgary. The Applewood Community Association has an outdoor rink and a large park for outdoor recreation, and there are also several other green spaces and playgrounds serving the area. This community doesn't currently have schools, but they're still nearby in the neighbouring communities of Abbeydale and Penbrooke Meadows.
