The NW community of Dalhousie was established in 1967 and is bounded by John Laurie Boulevard on the north side, Shaganappi Trail on the east, Crowchild Trail on the south, and Sarcee Trail on the west. Easy access to all four of these main thorough-ways offer easy commuting throughout Calgary, including a straight shot into the mountains via Crowchild. Dalhousie also has its own LRT station, so hopping on the CTrain to access the city via public transport is quick and easy.
Dalhousie Station is within community limits and provides direct access to Safeway, Earls Kitchen + Bar, Boston Pizza, Indigo, and more. The Dalhousie Community Association hosts monthly indoor farmer's markets, community sports, and other local events for the whole family.
Community schools include West Dalhousie School, HD Cartwright School, St. Dominic School, and Dalhousie School. After school recreation is readily available in numerous parks, playgrounds, nature pathways, and the off-leash dog park. Nose Hill Park is also close by for even more outdoor adventure opportunities.
