Evanston is a popular community in north Calgary near the edge of the city and one of five communities located within the Symons Valley area. It is bordered by the Kincora community across Shaganappi Trail, the Sage Hill community, 144 Avenue NW, 14 street NW, and the Panorama Hills and Hidden Valley communities across Stoney Trail.
The Creekside Shopping Centre is within the community borders and offers convenient amenities, such as The Bro'Kin Yolk, Boston Pizza, Co-op, Good Earth, and other local favourites. Several green spaces and playgrounds are in the area, and Evanston also shares a border with the Carrington Skate Spot.
Schools serving the area include Our Lady of Grace School, St. Josephine Bakhita School, and Kenneth D. Taylor School.
